The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has announced the launch of a special bus service aimed at facilitating rural women. This initiative will connect every rural tehsil to its respective district headquarters, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for women, including students and patients.
During a recent meeting in Lahore, Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized that a modern transport system is a fundamental right for women in rural areas. She directed the relevant authorities to prepare Punjab’s first Women’s Transport Solution Plan, addressing the transportation needs of women in these regions.
The service will initially operate from Hardihi Tehsil to the District Headquarters, with a broader mass transit plan in the pipeline. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and social welfare, aiming to boost the confidence of rural women and facilitate their mobility.
