US Embassy Cancels Visa Services Due to Security Concerns

Islamabad (Pakistan News) — The U.S. Embassy Islamabad has suspended all visa services until March 6 due to security concerns. This decision also applies to the U.S. consulates in Lahore and Karachi. Previously, these services had been suspended until March 2, but the suspension has now been extended.

On Sunday, during unrest at the U.S. consulate in Karachi, security personnel opened fire, resulting in 10 deaths and 35 injuries. Protesters in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi had surrounded the consulates following the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
