Middle East Tensions: 84 Flights from Pakistan Cancelled, Airspace Closed

Karachi (Pakistan News): Due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, 84 flights from various Pakistani airports to Gulf countries were cancelled today.

From Karachi Airport, 20 flights were cancelled; Islamabad and Lahore saw 18 cancellations each; Peshawar 16; Multan 4; and Sialkot 8. Affected airlines include Emirates, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Air Arabia, PIA, Air Blue, Qatar Airways, and other domestic and international carriers.

Officials reported that over the past 12 days, a total of 1,308 flights to Gulf countries have been cancelled. The airspaces of the UAE, Qatar, Iran, Kuwait, and Bahrain remain closed. Thousands of Pakistanis have been stranded since February 28 due to the closure, though conditional relief flights are being allowed from Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad Airport has resumed operations today for international flights to destinations including Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.
