Islamabad (Pakistan News): Investigations have revealed that suspected allotments of plots in the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have caused a loss of over Rs 1 billion to the national treasury.
A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, chaired by Shahida Gul, was held where FIA Director General briefed the committee about serious irregularities in the allotment of 43 plots across various sectors of Islamabad. The audit report also raised questions regarding CDA’s Land and Rehabilitation Directorate, and the matter has been handed over to the FIA for investigation.
The FIA Director General stated that investigations involve over Rs 1 billion, and so far 46 individuals have been arrested, including 4 Additional Secretaries and 7 Deputy Directors. Actions are ongoing against a total of 57 accused, while around 37 are out on bail.
It was further reported that valuable plots in different sectors linked to the accused have also been seized, and money laundering cases have been initiated against all involved individuals.
