Kharianwala (Pakistan News): Police have arrested a suspect involved in drug smuggling who allegedly lured citizens with the promise of a free Umrah trip and used them to send narcotics abroad.
According to the police, the suspect exploited people under the pretext of providing Umrah facilities and attempted to send prohibited substances to Saudi Arabia through them. Some Pakistani pilgrims faced legal action as a result of this network.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of SHO Muhammad Riaz of Kharianwala Police Station. During the raid, the police recovered over five kilograms of cannabis from the suspect’s possession and arrested him.
Police stated that the suspect was involved in distributing drugs in various areas and operated as part of an organized group. Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the network.
According to SP Bakhtiar Ahmed, actions against drugs will continue, and the police will take all possible measures to protect the younger generation.
