Islamabad (Pakistan News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the schedule for the by-election on NA-256 Khuzdar, vacated by Akhtar Mengal, head of the BNP-Mengal.
According to the election commission’s notification, polling for NA-256 Khuzdar will be held on April 5, while the public notice for the election will be issued on February 18. Nomination papers can be submitted from February 20 to 24, the list of candidates will be published on February 25, and allocation of election symbols will take place on March 18.
The notification also states that the Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar has been appointed as the District Returning Officer for the by-election.
The seat of NA-256 Khuzdar became vacant following the resignation of Sardar Muhammad Akhtar Mengal, which was approved by the Speaker of the National Assembly three days ago.
