Islamabad (Pakistan News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken immediate notice of the new solar regulations issued by NEPRA and directed the Power Division to file a review appeal.
According to Express News, the Prime Minister instructed the Power Division to approach NEPRA to ensure the protection of existing contracts for solar consumers, guaranteeing that all current agreements are fully safeguarded. He emphasized that the burden of the 466,000 solar consumers should not fall on the over 37.6 million users of the national grid. The Power Division has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive action plan in this regard.
A high-level special meeting on NEPRA’s new regulations was held today in Islamabad under the Prime Minister’s chairmanship. Participants included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Awais Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Sardar Owais Khan Laghari, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kiani, Privatization Advisor Muhammad Ali, and other senior officials.
