Islamabad (Pakistan News): After gaining traction in the US, Pakistani exporters are now making a mark in the European market, where handwoven traditional carpets attracted significant attention at the Heimtextil international home textiles exhibition.
Participating Pakistani exporters reported a better-than-expected response, raising hopes for a revival of the country’s carpet industry. The recent US tariffs on Indian products have also provided an added advantage to Pakistani exports.
A special national pavilion for Pakistan was set up this year in Frankfurt, Germany, featuring ten small and medium-sized exporters. Many of these companies are introducing their carpets directly to the European market for the first time.
Mian Atiq Ur Rehman, Chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers Association, said that after a long period, this exhibition proved to be a key opportunity for global recognition and market access for Pakistani carpets.
