Pakistan, China Agree on CPEC, Strengthen Ties

Islamabad (Pakistan News): Pakistan and China reached an agreement to protect shared interests, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), during the seventh Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.

The meeting, held in Beijing, focused on strengthening bilateral relations, regional and global issues, economic cooperation, and security collaboration. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited China from January 3 to 5, 2026, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and co-chaired the Strategic Dialogue on January 4.

The talks reviewed cooperation in strategic and political affairs, defense and security, economy, trade, investment, and public diplomacy. Both sides agreed on boosting mutual trust and safeguarding shared interests.

Additionally, the two countries announced the launch of events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, aiming to strengthen friendship and explore new avenues of collaboration.
