Islamabad (Pakistan News): According to details presented in the National Assembly, over 38,500 Pakistanis were deported from Gulf countries in the past year. The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis submitted a report to the Assembly providing a breakdown by country and reasons for deportation.
The report stated that Saudi Arabia accounted for the highest number of deportations at 27,692, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 6,794, Oman with 2,537, Bahrain with 786, Qatar with 644, and Kuwait with 163.
Among the deported, 6,939 Pakistanis were wanted in various criminal cases, while 4,872 were sent back for illegal entry or overstaying. Around 2,500 Pakistanis imprisoned in Gulf jails were also deported.
Other reasons included drug-related charges (1,125), being on blacklists (1,639), visa violations (936), theft (190), and begging (780). Additionally, 332 were deported for immigration law violations, 15 through Interpol, and over 14,000 Pakistanis were deported for various other reasons.
These figures underscore the importance of government measures to protect overseas Pakistanis and provide them with legal guidance.
