Islamabad (Pakistan News): The National Highway Authority (NHA) has rejected reports claiming a financial loss of Rs 295 billion, clarifying that the figures are due to “accounting differences” and that the authority remains financially stable.
According to a spokesperson, in the fiscal year 2024-25, NHA’s operating revenue amounted to Rs 43.6 billion. The authority’s operations are cash-positive, and it continues to maintain consistent operational profits. Toll tax collection is 81% ensured through the M-TAG system, which has improved transparency and revenue.
The spokesperson further stated that NHA does not burden the federal government for retired employees’ pensions and does not rely on the federal budget for administrative expenses. The authority continues to operate in a financially sound and efficient manner.
