Lahore (Pakistan News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her commitment to the education, training, and rehabilitation of children with autism on the occasion of Autism Day.
In her special message, she emphasized the rights of individuals with autism, their social inclusion, and the creation of equal opportunities, pledging effective measures for the rehabilitation of affected children.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the establishment of Pakistan’s first government-run Autism Center and lauded Special Assistant Saniyah Ashiq and her team for their efforts. She highlighted that the Lahore School of Autism is a unique institution providing early autism diagnosis facilities at the initial stage. Additionally, autism centers have been established in 27 divisional public schools across the province.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif affirmed that the government is determined to bring positive change to the lives of children with autism. Treatment facilities will be made available in every district, transportation will be provided to all special education centers, and a Center of Excellence for Special Students will be established across Punjab.
