Islamabad High Court Issues Key Decision in Imran Khan’s Ex-Account Case

Islamabad (Pakistan News) The Islamabad High Court has deemed the response of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) unsatisfactory in the case regarding the closure of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-account. The court has also sought a written reply in a contempt of court petition concerning the refusal to allow PTI founder Khan to meet his lawyer, Salman Akram Raja.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked, “See for yourself—the writ petition has been filed and this is your response.” During the hearing, the court noted that responses from jail authorities, PTA, and other parties have been received, but PTA’s reply is not satisfactory.

Salman Akram Raja informed the court that the founder of PTI could not hold a consultation meeting regarding the case. The court directed that if the meeting takes place, final arguments will be heard on February 24. The government lawyer was also instructed to submit a written response.

Raja further explained that although the meeting order was issued on November 4, it has not been implemented for over two months. Justice Tahir stated that an appropriate order will be issued to ensure the meeting occurs so the case can proceed.

The court has adjourned further hearings until February 24.
