Lahore (Pakistan Khabar): The first sun of 2026 rose in Pakistan bringing new aspirations, hopes, and dreams, while the year 2025, filled with bitter and sweet memories, became a part of the past.
In Karachi, the first rays of the New Year appeared at 7:17 AM, as citizens flocked to coastal areas, parks, and open spaces to capture this memorable moment on cameras.
Special prayers for the nation’s security, stability, and prosperity were offered in mosques across the country, invoking Allah for Pakistan’s development, welfare, and peace in the world.
In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, heavy rainfall prevented people from witnessing the sunrise. However, after four months of drought, the rain was regarded as a blessing from nature. Torrential rain caused urban flooding, washed parks and trees, and brought freshness to the air.
The first day of the New Year began with Fajr prayers in mosques and imambargahs, where despite the rain, large crowds offered prayers for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and security.
The New Year’s sunrise brought two major pieces of good news for the public: a reduction of up to Rs 10 in petrol and diesel prices and rainfall after months of drought, considered a gift for the citizens.
In Punjab, including Lahore, the cloudy weather and heavy fog obscured the full view of the sun. The temperature in Lahore was recorded at 10°C, with light drizzle continuing intermittently throughout the night. The sun set at 5:10 PM.
In Quetta, the sun rose at 7:45 AM, where Fajr prayers included supplications for peace, security, and prosperity in the country. Citizens prayed that the first rays of the New Year bring well-being and progress.
Thus, 2025 became part of the past with its memories and experiences, while 2026 has risen as a new beginning, symbolizing light, hope, and a brighter future.
