Deadly Fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi, 6 Killed

Karachi (Pakistan News): A fire that broke out late last night at Gul Plaza shopping mall on M.A. Jinnah Road in Karachi is still not under control. The blaze has destroyed two sections of the building, with fears that the remaining part may collapse.

Rescue sources report that six people, including a firefighter, have died and 20 others were injured, several critically, and have been transferred to Civil Hospital. The deceased have been identified as Asif, Faraz, and Amir.

According to the Chief Fire Officer, all shops and warehouses on the ground floor are engulfed in flames. The fire has been declared a third-degree emergency, with firefighters summoned from across the city, and trapped individuals are being rescued using snorcles. Authorities say the fire has reached the third floor and the basement market is also affected. The building is in a fragile condition and may collapse at any moment, posing further danger.
