Chief Justice Yahya Afridi Directs Immediate Improvement of Judicial Infrastructure

Islamabad (Pakistan News): Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, Chief Justice of Pakistan, has ordered the urgent completion of gaps in judicial infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted and sustainable energy supply, enhancing both court performance and institutional prestige.

A high-level review meeting on nationwide judicial infrastructure reforms was held under the Chief Justice’s supervision, examining the progress of solarization in courts and bar rooms. According to the official statement:

  • In Punjab, solarization has been completed in 56 bar rooms, with work ongoing in 47 others. Additionally, 62 e-libraries have been established in bars and courts, 47 judicial complexes now have water filtration plants, 32 daycare centers, and 74 women’s facilitation centers have been set up.
  • In Sindh, solarization of 65 bar rooms and 92 courts is underway, while 37 bar rooms and 61 courts are being equipped with e-libraries. Development of women’s facilitation centers in 28 districts and 19 sub-divisions is also in progress.
  • In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 51 bar rooms and 39 courts have completed solarization, and 66 bar rooms along with 62 courts now have e-libraries. Implementation of the women’s center project has begun in Swat and Haripur following official approval.

The Chief Justice emphasized that these reforms are crucial for enhancing judicial efficiency and providing modern facilities for legal professionals and citizens alike.
