The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to commence on April 11, 2025. The opening match will feature defending champions Islamabad United against two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The tournament will run until May 18, encompassing 34 matches across four major cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is slated to host 13 matches, including two eliminators and the final. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, featuring the qualifier on May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches. An exhibition match is scheduled in Peshawar on April 8, with participating teams to be announced later.
Karachi Kings will begin their campaign on April 12 at home against Multan Sultans. Multan Sultans will face Lahore Qalandars on April 22 in Multan. Gaddafi Stadium’s first match is on April 24, featuring Lahore Qalandars against Peshawar Zalmi.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer expressed enthusiasm about the milestone 10th edition, highlighting the league’s growth into a globally recognized tournament showcasing Pakistan’s cricketing talent. He also emphasized the significance of hosting an exhibition match in Peshawar, aiming to bring top-tier cricket to the city’s passionate fans.
All six franchises finalized their squads during a player draft in Lahore on January 13. Notably, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell was the first pick, joining Lahore Qalandars for his PSL debut. To attract high-profile international players, the PCB announced an additional $100,000 payment to six elite foreign recruits, setting the maximum base salary at $200,000 for each overseas player.
This edition marks the first time the PSL will coincide with the Indian Premier League (IPL), as both tournaments are scheduled during overlapping periods.
