Prime Minister chairs high-level discussion to enhance anti-terrorism narrative

A important gathering of federal and provincial officials was led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address terrorism.

According to military and civilian authorities from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan attended the Prime Minister’s House meeting.

A meeting was held to reveal the Jaffar Express attackers and expose them to the international community.

The attendees also resolved to effectively counter anti-national attacks on traditional and digital media.

The session decided to strengthen the national narrative under the National Action Plan (NAP) and command the National Narrative Committee to create a more active narrative to combat terrorism and extremism.

The leadership also decided to stop information that threatens national security and unity. It was decided to prevent misinformation and propaganda from harming the national interest.

The administration used national themes in films and TV dramas to engage youth and promote the national narrative and fight extremism.

For this project to positively impact youth, all provinces have committed to participate.

With this in mind, the group decided to employ digital media to disseminate the national narrative, address the societal effects of terrorism, and combat fake news, especially on social media.

The panel also recommended using authentic information to counteract deepfake videos and other fake content.

The leadership also included terrorism awareness in the national curriculum to teach future generations about extremism.
