On March 27, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced the “Digital Youth Hub” in Islamabad, aiming to connect Pakistan’s youth with employment opportunities, educational scholarships, entrepreneurship programs, and technical skills development.
With approximately 64% of Pakistan’s population under the age of 30, this initiative seeks to harness the potential of young individuals by providing training in modern technologies such as information technology and artificial intelligence.
The Digital Youth Hub is a collaborative effort between the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and UNICEF, designed to serve as a comprehensive platform for the nation’s youth.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of modern technology in today’s global landscape and highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering young people through education and skill development.
Despite the opportunities presented by a youthful population, challenges such as high unemployment rates and limited access to quality education persist. The Digital Youth Hub aims to address these issues by providing resources and opportunities to equip young Pakistanis for the evolving job market.
