PM Shehbaz highlights plans to regulate digital currencies

PM Shehbaz Sharif said his government is working on digital currency regulation. In an Economic Advisory Council (EAC) meeting, he acknowledged the global shift toward these currencies and stressed the significance of weighing their advantages and cons before deployment.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the necessity for broad consultations to build a regulatory framework, according to PM Office sources. Teamwork and quick policymaking are key to economic stability, he said, praising his economic staff.

The EAC supported the government’s economic strategy and made various growth-boosting suggestions. The prime minister ordered his team to work with council members on practical plans for IT development, industry advancement, agriculture, and exports. Green data centers were also discussed to upgrade the tech environment.

To increase freelancer opportunities and IT exports, distant locations are being improved for telecommunications and internet connectivity. Recent tax system improvements and business-friendly policies were welcomed by stakeholders.

PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of turning these discussions into measurable achievements to support sustainable economic growth. The regulation of digital currencies helps Pakistan respond to global financial trends.
