Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Baku on Sunday for a two-day official visit.
First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Abdulla oglu Eyyubov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farkhadov, Pakistan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin, and senior dignitaries welcomed the prime minister at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The prime minister will meet with President Ilham Aliyev and other senior Azerbaijani officials during the visit.

They will discuss strengthening bilateral relations, expanding commerce and investment, improving energy cooperation, coordinating climate change efforts, deepening defence coordination, and promoting cultural exchanges.
Several MoUs and agreements are expected to strengthen the two countries’ partnership.
Monday’s Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum will feature the PM and Azerbaijani leadership. Both countries’ business leaders will meet to discuss joint ventures, trade, and investment opportunities, emphasising B2B collaboration.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan share ideals and aspirations and a long history of fraternity. This visit shows both nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, economic cooperation, and regional partnership.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Investment & Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi accompany the prime minister.
PM Shehbaz tweeted, “Landed in Baku, where past and future blend. Snow makes the city even more charming!”
The PM said, “Looking forward to productive conversations to boost Pakistan-Azerbaijan ties. We also want better commerce and investment.” APP
