PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi engages with domestic cricket stars to boost talent

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently met with top domestic cricketers at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore to discuss ways to enhance player development. The session focused on improving training facilities, fitness regimes, and dietary plans, aiming to prepare young talent for international challenges.

Following Pakistan’s early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the PCB is keen on restructuring its approach to player development. Naqvi emphasized the need for better access to high-performance centers, personalized fitness programs, and professional trainers to support athletes. He also hinted at the inclusion of emerging players in Pakistan’s upcoming tour of New Zealand, which features five T20 internationals and three one-day internationals starting March 16.

Prominent domestic players, including Muhammad Ali, Haider Ali, Tahir Baig, and Qasim Akram, participated in the discussion. The initiative highlights the PCB’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s cricketing foundation by investing in homegrown talent.
