PCB chairman intervenes to maintain national T20 players’ match fees

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has intervened to halt a proposed reduction in match fees for players participating in the national T20 tournament. Initial reports indicated a drastic cut from PKR 100,000 to PKR 10,000 per match, with reserve players’ fees decreasing from PKR 40,000 to PKR 5,000.

Upon learning of these proposed changes, Chairman Naqvi directed PCB officials to maintain the existing compensation structure. He instructed Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi to ensure that no reductions are implemented and called for an immediate review of match fees.

This intervention underscores the PCB’s commitment to supporting domestic cricketers, particularly in formats like the National T20, which serve as crucial platforms for emerging talent. The tournament is set to commence on March 15 in Faisalabad.
