Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, met with the CEO of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), Jomana R. Alrashid, during his visit to Riyadh for the Saudi Media Forum 2025. The meeting sought to strengthen ties in media collaboration, digital innovation, and content development between the two nations.
The SRMG, a leading media organization in the Middle East and North Africa, highlighted the impact of its platforms operating in Pakistan, including Independent Urdu, Urdu News, and Arab News Pakistan. These outlets are praised for delivering credible content and fostering cultural connections, thus strengthening cross-border ties.
Tarar acknowledged SRMG’s positive contributions, noting the role of its platforms in raising awareness of key social issues and enhancing public access to reliable news. Discussions also covered expanding partnerships and exploring new content strategies to better engage audiences across both markets.
During the visit, an additional agreement was made between Tarar and Saudi Information Minister Salman Al-Dossary to create a joint committee aimed at co-producing films, songs, and documentaries. This builds on the growing cultural exchange between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with Pakistani television dramas already finding popularity among Saudi audiences.
This collaboration is part of broader Pakistan-Saudi strategic ties, which include security, economy, and cultural initiatives. The renewed commitment to media and cultural innovation reflects the countries’ desire to deepen their partnership across various sectors.
