Pakistan strengthens climate collaborations with Denmark

Pakistan is enhancing its climate change mitigation efforts through strengthened partnerships with Denmark. In August 2022, both nations signed the Green Framework Engagement Agreement to bolster cooperation in renewable energy and sustainable development.

Building on this foundation, the Danish government is assisting Pakistan under its Danish Energy Transition Initiative (DETI), providing technical support to the Ministry of Energy in areas such as long-term energy planning and integrating renewable energy into the existing grid.

Additionally, Denmark is collaborating with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) to attract foreign investments aimed at addressing climate change challenges in Pakistan. This partnership focuses on creating a conducive environment for climate action and developing carbon market projects.

These initiatives reflect Pakistan’s commitment to global climate action and its efforts to build a sustainable, climate-resilient future through international cooperation.
