Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s foreign minister, has stressed the critical importance of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation endorsing Saudi Arabia’s plan for a Palestinian state in achieving peace in the area. He stressed the need to work together to stop the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, get Palestine admitted to the United Nations, and back the two-state solution.
A deepening humanitarian catastrophe and illegal forced displacements were warned of by Dar as she denounced the Israeli assault in the West Bank and Gaza. Among his demands was the immediate delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people and the end of Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon.
Dar drew comparisons between the plight of Palestinians and that of Kashmir under Indian occupation, critiquing the latter’s military presence, population changes, and persecution of Kashmiris. In light of India’s threats, he warned against escalating tensions.
In his address to the Afghan people, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for them and expressed security worries regarding attacks by the TTP from Afghanistan and the involvement of Afghan refugees in terrorism. Dar urged for immediate action to fight these threats.
