Pakistan is working to deepen its relationship with the United States in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, aiming to boost innovation and digital development in the country. On May 15, 2025, Bilal bin Saqib, head of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), met with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in these fast-growing sectors.
In the course of the meeting, the PCC underscored Pakistan’s aspiration to establish itself as a regional leader in technological innovation. With a large, tech-savvy youth population and a rapidly evolving startup ecosystem, Pakistan views AI and blockchain as essential tools for economic progress and global competitiveness.
Launching collaborative projects between American tech companies and Pakistani startups, encouraging talent exchange programs, and establishing partnerships through mutually beneficial agreements are among the plans that were discussed. These efforts are expected to create new opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs and developers in the global digital economy.
Pakistan’s push toward legalizing and integrating blockchain and crypto technologies aligns with its broader vision to modernize the economy. With over 60% of its population under the age of 30, the country hopes to harness this demographic strength to drive forward its digital future.
