Pakistan prepares to launch its first digital FDI summit this April

The first-ever Digital Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Summit is scheduled to take place in Islamabad, Pakistan, from April 29th to the 30th, 2025. The country’s digital economy is booming, and this landmark event is an attempt to entice investors from around the world by creating a more welcoming atmosphere for technology.

The conference is being held as a component of the Digital FDI Initiative, a partnership between the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) and the World Economic Forum (WEF). This project, which aims to improve digital infrastructure, encourage innovation, and boost digital exports, has been adopted by Pakistan as the first country to do so.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s State Minister for IT, highlighted the country’s aim to attract ICT investments from around the world. Pakistan has made economic digitization, governance reforms, and social innovation its top priorities with the passage of the Digital Nation Act. Pakistan Stack, a national digital framework to improve digital inclusion and streamline government, is an important part of this approach.

There will be a gathering of tech executives, politicians, and investors at this summit to discuss digital potential and further establish Pakistan as a prime location for tech-driven investments.
