This announcement follows FIFA’s recent decision to lift its international suspension of Pakistan, imposed on February 6 due to disputes over electoral reforms within the PFF. The suspension was revoked after the PFF unanimously approved FIFA’s proposed constitutional amendments in Lahore last Thursday.
Stephen Constantine has been reappointed as head coach for the match against Syria. He previously served as Pakistan’s head coach from late 2023 until mid-2024.
In the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, Pakistan is placed in Group E alongside Syria, Afghanistan, and Myanmar. The qualifiers will be conducted on a home-and-away basis.
This development marks a significant step for Pakistan’s football aspirations, especially after the recent administrative challenges and the subsequent lifting of FIFA’s suspension.
