Following the Ramazan Nigheban model, the Ramazan Nigheban model, has proposed a grant scheme to help non-Muslims celebrate religious festivals.
Financial aid is offered to deserving families during March and April religious holidays.
Muslims will celebrate Eid after Ramadan, Hindus will celebrate Holi on March 13 and 14, Sikhs will celebrate Khalsa Janam Din and Vaisakhi on April 14, and Christians will celebrate Easter on April 20.
The Punjab government has given Sikh, Hindu, and Christian households special funds for these celebrations. Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Arora, said qualified households from these tribes will receive PKR 15,000 to commemorate religious events with respect.
“The Punjab chief minister considers minorities an integral part of the province and remains committed to their well-being,” he stated.
“This initiative will enable underprivileged minority families to celebrate their festivals with joy and respect.”
