Non-bailable warrants have been issued for a prominent PTI leader

An Islamabad court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sher Afzal Marwat on Monday, as reported by media outlets. The warrants were issued by the Judicial Magistrate of Islamabad in connection with a case registered at Naseerabad police station. The court directed authorities to arrest Sher Afzal Marwat and present him in court by July 30. The case involves allegations that Marwat constructed on a plot near the Thalian Motorway Interchange without the necessary approvals.

The escalation in PTI’s internal conflicts over Marwat’s statements has been noted. Previously, on June 13, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) suspended Marwat’s primary membership due to disciplinary infractions. PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub issued a notification citing Marwat’s breach of party discipline, leading to his removal from political and core committees. An inquiry committee has been established to investigate Marwat’s statements and actions, which allegedly caused significant harm to the party.
