No bargain, only rebuilt relationships with establishment: Gohar

Saying his party had just resumed relations, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Friday firmly rejected negotiating with the establishment.

According to him, “only contacts were restored with the establishment; no negotiations took place; only contacts were restored before November 24. He stated final negotiations with the establishment had not yet started and that the discussion of a settlement was unfounded with no bearing on reality on Earth.

Gohar clarified that records show the Taliban resettlement choices were taken until July 2022 following the reckless remarks made by minister Talal Chaudhry stating terrorists did not target the PTI. According to him, Talal’s assessment of the Taliban’s comeback ran counter to reality. “Pakistan is under the hold of terrorism; now is not the moment to start accusations. The administration should concentrate on stopping terrorism rather than such remarks, Gohar advised. “We reject terrorism in Pakistan.” We vehemently object to targeting any Pakistani national, he underlined.

PTI Information Secretary Waqas Akram meanwhile said the party would back the long march the Balochistan National Party Mengal (BNP-M) president Akhtar Mengal announced against the incarceration of Baloch Yakjefti Committee (BYC) leaders. According to him, BNP-M backed the proposal for the establishment of a truth and reconciliation commission to make persons engaged in extra-constitutional activities responsible.

Acknowledging that Balochistani people had been demanding their due human, economic, and political rights for decades, he said the PTI denounced forced disappearances and the torture and murder of unarmed demonstrators.

According to him, the PTI was the biggest political party in Pakistan advocating Pakistan’s integrity and cohesion.

“The PTI stands against the denial of basic human rights guaranteed by the Constitution anywhere in Pakistan, in particular given the tragic events of the last few weeks since the repensible attack on Jaffar Express,” he argued.

Waqas promised that his party backed the demand that such extra-constitutional measures be stopped and those guilty be held liable via a truth and reconciliation commission.
