Netflix unveils first-ever Pakistani original series

The first-ever Pakistani original series on Netflix, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, is slated to debut in June 2025. Adapted from Farhat Ishtiaq’s acclaimed novel, the series explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, weaving a narrative that spans the picturesque landscapes of Italy and the vibrant locales of Pakistan.

The story centers on Sikander, portrayed by Ahad Raza Mir, a Harvard law student grappling with emotional turmoil, and Leeza, played by Iqra Aziz, a spirited artist with a complex past. In Italy, their paths meet, setting fire to an incredible journey of transformation.

The cast is a blend of Pakistan’s top talent, each bringing their unique presence to the screen. Mahira Khan delivers her signature charm and emotional depth, while Hamza Ali Abbasi adds intensity through a powerful performance. Sanam Saeed captivates with her nuanced portrayal, and Fawad Khan lends charisma to a pivotal role. Hania Aamir infuses the narrative with youthful vitality, while Maya Ali contributes elegance and emotional depth. Bilal Ashraf impresses with a compelling presence, and Khushhal Khan contributes a fresh perspective with his rising talent.

Filming took place across various Italian cities, with Iqra Aziz sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from Rome, offering fans a sneak peek into the series’ aesthetic appeal.
