While another man was detained for uploading the footage of him on social media, Rakh Khanpur, a Govt College of Technology student, was arrested on blasphemy charges for insulting a friend of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The first information report ( FIR), which said that Civil Lines police discovered a student had offended the companion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Identified in the FIR, a man from Rajanpur had filmed the student and uploaded it on social media. Gathering around the lad, a swarm surrounded.
Arriving at the scene, Civil Lines police pulled him from the throng and drove him to the station. Police launched a charge against him under Section 298-A (disrespecting the wives, family and companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Additionally hauled into jail was the man who created his video and uploaded it on social media. According to District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Rizwan, he assembled a team under DSP City Tahir Ijaz investigating the incident.
The DSP claimed the suspect came from the Rajanpur district, but he was driven to provide a confession against a Holy Prophet’s companion (PBUH). Based on the first investigation, the police said the student was innocent and the individual who had started him and recorded video had also been arrested.
As a TikTaker woman was recently detained on blasphemy allegations, it is the second documented instance of blasphemy in the Muzaffargarh district in recent days.
