In response to escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed health authorities to provide free medical treatment to Pakistani patients who were compelled to return from India without completing their treatments. These patients, many of whom require critical procedures like kidney and liver transplants, had their visas revoked by the Indian government, forcing their premature return.
“The patients returning from India will not be left alone under any circumstances,” stated CM Nawaz, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the best possible care for these individuals.
In a separate development, CM Nawaz commended the Punjab Police for their improved performance, attributing a decline in crime rates in cities like Lahore to the implementation of a new ranking system and key performance indicators (KPIs). She highlighted that Lahore’s inclusion in the ‘Safe City’ category, surpassing cities like London and New York in safety metrics, is a testament to effective policing strategies and modern technological integration.
