LHC summons CTO over Lahore’s traffic management issues

Due to poor traffic control during cricket matches in Lahore, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has been called before the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Several departments delivered their reports at the hearing on anti-smog measures, which was presided over by Justice Shahid Karim. The court expressed displeasure, noting that no appropriate preparations were taken to guarantee efficient traffic flow, even though it was known that Lahore would host Champions Trophy matches.

The CTO has been ordered by the court to physically attend the upcoming hearing.Water-saving techniques
Justice Shahid Karim also discussed Punjab’s water situation during the hearings, emphasizing the importance of conservation measures. He gave the order:

A prohibition on home car washes
Violators face a punishment of Rs 10,000.
Gas pumps without water recycling facilities sealed
The court also criticized the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and decided that no project should start without the clearance of the environmental department.The hearing was adjourned till February 10.
