On Wednesday, Badhber police arrested a cleric for abusing two youngsters in Telaband, outside the provincial capital.
One minor’s father told Badhber police that his nine-year-old daughter and 11-year-old nephew attended a Telaband seminary.
He filed a FIR after the children told them on March 3 that the prayer leader had attacked them many times four days before Ramazan.
They dreaded punishment if they told their parents right away.
He told the police he asked both children, who gave all the details. He took both children to the police and charged the prayer leader.
The prayer leader was charged under Pakistan Penal Code sections 376, 377, and 511 and Child Protection and Welfare Act, 2010 parts 43 and 53.
Police arrested the suspect.
