Ali Amin Gandapur, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has proposed a free laptop program for students, guaranteeing that the state will receive the same number of laptops as Punjab. His plea was for Punjab to follow the lead of K-P, which offers universal health insurance through programs like Sehat Card Plus and life insurance to its citizens.
While Punjab had a 12% increase in revenue, Gandapur boasted a 55% gain for K-P. In contrast to Punjab, which had a deficit of Rs146 billion, he said that K-P had a surplus of Rs176 billion and had achieved IMF targets.
Furthermore, Gandapur provided a financial contribution of Rs200,000 to cover the wedding expenses of four thousand disadvantaged ladies. Furthermore, he issued a challenge to Punjab, asserting that K-P’s financial and administrative accomplishments are significantly greater than theirs.
As an example for other provinces to emulate, this effort seeks to empower students.
