Friday saw rallies, conferences, and seminars to support Palestine and protest Israeli brutality in Gaza.
The participants slammed the ‘Zionist state’ for breaking ceasefire rules and attacking unarmed civilians.
The Jamaat-i-Islami rallied from Boat Basin to the US Consulate against Israeli misdeeds and genocide in Palestine despite strict security and road closures. Many protesters screamed anti-Israel and anti-US slogans with banners and placards. Police blocked the demonstration from reaching the US Consulate after crossing M.T. Khan Road.
Some protest leaders were allowed to proceed. Dawn reported that DIG-South Asad Raza said they submitted a “memorandum” to consulate officials and dispersed amicably.
The DIG closed Mai Kolachi and M.T. Khan Road tracks.
Traffic was redirected to Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road and Club Road due to Mai Kolachi and M.T. Khan Road closures, according to a traffic police spokesperson.
Traffic congestion on Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road and Club Road hampered several drivers.
In his address, JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar criticized Israel for the Gaza slaughter and the US for Israeli crimes.
He explained the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The JI chief also criticized Pakistan’s ruling elite for “submission” to the US.
MWM holds citywide protests
Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen marked Youm-i-Yakjehti Palestine and Yemen Solidarity Day.
This party held protests and rallies outside mosques across Sindh following Friday prayers.
Many people protested Palestine and Yemeni brutalities at the rallies.
Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi, Sadiq Jafari, Mukhtar Imami, Mubashir Hassan, and others addressed the protests.
At the major protest in Khawaja Mosque, Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen Sindh president Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi claimed “Israel is a global terrorist and an occupying state”.
“Despite the Palestinian-Israeli ceasefire agreement, Israel targets innocent civilians,” he stated.
“Hundreds of innocent people were killed in recent Zionist attacks. US bombings in Yemen have killed dozens of civilians, mostly youngsters. Israel has committed war crimes before. After Hamas’ retaliations, a failing Israel is killing women, children, and civilians.
TLP rally
TLP held a rally outside the Karachi Press Club.

He requested actual assistance from the government for Palestinians.
