Ali Sethi’s global hit Pasoori has mesmerized millions, but his mother, Jugnu Mohsin, remains unimpressed. In a recent interview, she admitted that while the song has achieved international success, she personally prefers his traditional Punjabi and Ghazal renditions.
Jugnu shared that when Pasoori reached major milestones, Ali pointed out her lack of excitement. She acknowledged this, explaining that she enjoys songs rooted in classical and folk traditions, such as Gulon Mein Rang Bharein.
Reflecting on Ali’s musical journey, Jugnu mentioned that during her pregnancy, she frequently listened to Punjabi and classical rags, which may have shaped his artistic style. She also highlighted how their family’s fluency in pure Punjabi has helped Ali bring authenticity to traditional songs like Umran Langiyan Pabhan Par.
Despite her personal taste, she expressed immense pride in Ali’s talent and the recognition he has garnered on the global stage.
