Heavy snowfall paralyzes northern Pakistan

The northern regions of Pakistan, especially Astore and Neelum Valley, are grappling with heavy snowfall that has disrupted communication, blocked routes, and intensified the cold. Many areas are experiencing power outages and significant travel issues.

The Meteorological Department predicts continued snowfall in higher altitudes across Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, alongside rainfall and strong winds in adjoining regions like Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, and Mansehra. Meanwhile, the plains, including Lahore, may see rain over the next 24 hours, while Karachi remains warm and humid with highs reaching 36°C.

Authorities are urging caution while travelling through affected regions and are monitoring conditions closely. Travellers are advised to stay informed using the latest weather updates.
