Govt Committed to Uplifting Minorities, Says Ramesh Arora
Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improving the living standards of minorities through various development initiatives. Speaking at a seminar at Government College University Faisalabad under the Khushali Fellowship Program for Minorities, he highlighted ongoing efforts to uplift minority communities.
Arora emphasized Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s focus on sustainable development goals, particularly for the low-income Christian community. He announced the launch of several programs, including a Digital Literacy Program aimed at empowering minority children and a Digital E-Learning Program designed to create dignified employment opportunities.
Additionally, he revealed that the government plans to distribute 50,000 minority cards this year, with 7,000 cards set to be issued in Faisalabad soon. He stressed that the government’s priority is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens, fostering a global image of Pakistan as a nation of peace, love, and brotherhood.
Arora also praised initiatives supporting Christian sanitary workers, describing them as a positive step toward social upliftment.
The event featured remarks from Prof. Dr. Rauf Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF, former MPA Dr. Najma Afzal, and Fenny Hum, a representative of the Canadian High Commission. Mary James Gill, founder of the Khushali Fellowship Program, provided an overview of the program’s objectives and progress.
