Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on May 5, 2025, with the rate for 24-karat gold jumping by Rs7,800 to settle at Rs350,000 per tola. Alongside this, the price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs6,687, reaching Rs300,068.
The local price hike follows a global rally in the bullion market, where gold climbed by $76 per ounce to hit $3,316. Analysts attribute the international rise to increased investor interest in safe assets amid global economic volatility and a weaker US dollar.
Simultaneously, the domestic market saw increases for silver as well, with its price rising by Rs43 per tola to Rs3,425.
