Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, is set to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 in China, commencing today. The BFA, established by 29 member states, aims to enhance economic integration across Asia. This year’s theme, “Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future,” underscores a commitment to multilateralism and collaborative development.
During the four-day conference, Aurangzeb will discuss Pakistan’s economic landscape and engage with international delegates, investment banks, and Chinese officials. These interactions are part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to navigate its economic challenges, including depleted foreign reserves and currency depreciation. The country has previously secured financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund and is actively seeking investments from regional allies.
China remains a pivotal partner, having invested over $65 billion in Pakistan through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a key component of the Belt and Road Initiative aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.
