Disney unveils star-studded cast for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Disney’s Marvel Studios has officially announced the ensemble cast for its upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, set to release in May 2026. The reveal, made during a live-streamed event, confirmed the return of several fan-favorite actors and introduced new faces to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Returning Cast Members:

  • The renowned villain Doctor Doom will be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., who previously played Tony Stark/Iron Man.
  • Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor, continuing his journey in the MCU.
  • Paul Rudd returns as Ant-Man, bringing his unique blend of humor and heroism.
  • Tom Hiddleston is back as Loki, the god of mischief, adding intrigue to the storyline.
  • Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen make surprising returns as Professor X and Magneto, respectively, bridging the X-Men universe with the Avengers.

  • Vanessa Kirby takes on the role of Invisible Woman, adding depth to the superhero lineup.
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach appears as The Thing, bringing strength and complexity to the team.

  • Danny Ramirez, an Illinois native, reprises his role as Joaquin Torres (the new Falcon), representing increased diversity within the Avengers.

Notably absent from the cast are Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), leaving fans speculating about their characters’ futures in the MCU.
