A BTS member, Suga, arrived at a South Korean police station on Friday for questioning, expressing deep regret for riding an electric scooter while intoxicated.
The 31-year-old was found by police on August 6, lying beside his e-scooter with a blood alcohol level significantly above the legal limit. Dressed in a black suit, Suga bowed to reporters outside the station in Seoul’s Yongsan district.
“I’m very sorry for disappointing many fans and people. I will fully cooperate with the investigation,” he said, declining to answer questions about the incident.
Currently fulfilling mandatory military duties as a social service agent, Suga has already had his driving license revoked and received a fine. He admitted to drunk driving and apologized to fans on social media.
The extent of his punishment will depend on the type of e-scooter he was riding, with potential consequences under the Road Traffic Act, according to lawyer Cha Hong-soon.
