Bilawal stands for water justice, warns against undermining national unity

Bilawal Demands Fair Water Distribution, Warns Against Threats to Federation

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday emphasized the need for equitable water distribution, declaring it a fundamental right and warning against any decisions that could undermine national unity.

Speaking at a large gathering marking the 46th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he urged the prime minister to listen to the concerns of Sindh and south Punjab. He stressed that the PPP stood with the people and rejected unilateral moves on sensitive issues like water management.

Bilawal lauded the PML-N for delaying a controversial Ecnec decision, seeing it as a positive step towards cooperative governance. He called on supporters to rally in Hyderabad on April 18 in support of water rights and against extremism.

He reaffirmed PPP’s longstanding opposition to terrorism, saying the party was the true voice of Benazir Bhutto’s mission for peace and unity. He criticized those he termed “political orphans” and reiterated that PPP would resist any attempts to weaken the federation.

Referring to past efforts by PPP leaders to oppose unjust water projects, he noted that Punjab’s farmers are also affected and highlighted the shared struggle of all provinces.

Bilawal also stressed the importance of unity, urging political forces to prioritize the country’s stability and development over division.
