Rebuilding these dwellings under Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF), a government owned business,
Arriving in Shujabad taluka’s Ghumbri village, Bilawal also visited taluka Kot Ghulam Mohammad’s Ghulam Mustafa Leghari and Wagharji villages.
He congratulated the beneficiaries on owning their own homes and took pictures with them. He claimed he could really understand their sorrow and agony of 2022 flooding. In his interaction with them, he said, “These houses are for you and nobody can take away the same.” Assigned to Lachman, he asked his youngster how he felt about their new homes while casually chatting informally and seated on a cot in one residence.
Telling them they were the proprietors of these houses, he gave women folk of every household private rights. The people living in the villages welcomed him kindly.
One person said, “We watched you on television sets so far and we don’t believe you are among us now.” He said, “you people have faced difficult circumstances but the government had promised that your damaged houses would be rebuilt.” “I am here to keep my promise today,” he declared.
He briefly chatted with a woman. With reference to her son Dilip, “today this house is legally yours and hopefully you will hand over its ownership document to your son when he becomes adult.”
He delighted in the way kitchenware were decorated in a typical rural village. Bilawal responded that he was here since several of the delighted locals told him they had equipped their house themselves and asked to view their homes. According to him, more will come as the Sindh government had constructed several homes.
Present were also Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Culture Minister Zulfikar Ali Shah, Home Minister Zia Lanjar and others.
