Information Minister Atta Tarar Leads Media Delegation to LoC to Counter Indian Allegations
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar led a significant visit to the Line of Control (LoC) accompanied by members of both local and international media. The aim of the tour was to give journalists a direct view of the ground situation in response to India’s repeated accusations that Pakistan harbors terrorist infrastructure near the LoC, according to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan.
The visit, organized by the Ministry of Information, was intended to challenge India’s narrative by showing journalists the very locations often cited by New Delhi as militant hubs. What they found, however, painted a very different picture—peaceful civilian settlements with homes, shops, and daily life unfolding as usual.
Residents of these areas spoke openly with the media, sharing their experiences and denying any signs of militant activity. Their accounts strongly contradicted India’s claims of terrorist presence in the region.
Addressing the media, Minister Tarar dismissed India’s allegations as “baseless” and said Pakistan was committed to exposing the truth. “Today, we have brought both international and local journalists to see for themselves that these areas are not terrorist camps, but peaceful civilian communities,” he said.
He emphasized Pakistan’s broader commitment to peace and international cooperation: “We are a responsible nation, fully committed to peace—not just regionally, but globally. We strongly condemn terrorism in all forms, anywhere in the world.”
At the same time, Tarar made it clear that Pakistan would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty. “Our conduct proves we advocate for peace, but if provoked, we will respond firmly. India should reflect on its own human rights record in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir before leveling baseless accusations against us.”
He further accused India of using LoC-related propaganda as a distraction from its own internal issues and the deteriorating situation in Kashmir. “This is nothing more than a diversion from India’s failures in occupied Kashmir. But now, the world media has seen the reality for itself,” he added.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed that Pakistan’s military leadership recently reassured senior political leaders of the country’s readiness to respond to any aggression. This came during an in-camera briefing arranged by the government, where Minister Tarar and ISPR Director General Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry updated political parties on the current tensions with India following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
