Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, officially launched the Pakistan Institute of Education’s 2022-23 report on girls’ education. The report reveals that 21 million girls were enrolled in educational institutions last year. It notes that 28% of schools are girls-only, 31% are co-educational, and 41% are boys-only. The report also outlines specific measures to tackle the identified challenges.
The report was presented during a ceremony at Allama Iqbal Open University’s auditorium on Wednesday. The event was led by Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and attended by Additional Secretary of Education Hassan Saqlain, Pakistan Institute of Education Director General Dr. Muhammad Shahid Saroya, Allama Iqbal Open University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Executive Director of Pakistan Alliance for Girls’ Education Fajr, and other key stakeholders.
